The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for supporting budget holders in completing and managing their budgets and forecast by engaging, understanding and challenging budget holders’ cost requirements as well as completing accurate budget/forecast in SAP
Key tasks will include:
- Headcount and employment costs, collating budget / forecasted headcount information.
- IDC’s (intra departmental charges) for all areas within DBGS.
- Ensuring and implementing policy compliance, such as complying with transfer pricing policy when calculating revenue.
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Prepare profit centre reports to communicate performance with budget holders
- Providing support and training to budget holders
Education required
- National Diploma in Accounting
- Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or equivalent would be preferred
Knowledge & Experience required
- Financial and management accounting
- Accounting experience to profit centre level
- Experience with entities providing a variety of services, following strict guidelines for the calculation of revenue
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Analysing, interpreting and reporting on cost
- SAP system knowledge
